Details of the Serious Charges The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021. One senior CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.” The Investigation The charges come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital. Spencer will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th. List of Charges The charging documents outline the 45 charges comprise: 15 counts of sexual assault. 17 counts of assault by penetration. 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen. 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
