A Marquee Acquisition for the WSL Side The forward, with half a year remaining on her deal, has been a prolific goalscorer for her club and the national team. Having netted over 100 goals for Bayern and found the net 54 times in 82 appearances for Germany. This signing is viewed as a major signing for the Women’s Super League team. Her exit from Munich was expected since she appeared to be holding back emotions while applauding the club's fans after a win over Bayer Leverkusen recently. Reports in December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was losing one of its leading forwards. Per multiple sources, the formalities for the move have now been completed. Consistent Goalscoring to Strengthen the Attack The 28-year-old’s signing is expected to provide a major boost to the team's attacking options. Schüller has been highly consistent in front of goal in Germany’s top flight. Over seven straight seasons, including the last term, she reached at least a double-digit tally of league goals. She won the top scorer award in 2021-22 season with 16 goals. Gathering Steam at Carrington Securing Schüller’s signature coincides with a period when the club seem to be gathering positive momentum. Their recent on-pitch successes include securing a place in the European knockout phase playoffs as a seeded team and a victory in the League Cup quarter-finals. Off the pitch, the winter break has brought further activity: The signing of Sweden defender Hanna Lundkvist on a three-and-a-half-year deal. The new deal for Japan midfielder Hinata Miyazawa, a fan favourite since joining in 2023. On Miyazawa’s extension, a club official commented: “She has become a vital part to the way we play. Her understanding of the game and skill enables her and the team to dominate play from the middle of the park.” Lundkvist, who has arrived from a club in the American league, added: “You can feel how much they [United] have progressed in the last few years, playing in one of the strongest leagues in the world and now featuring in the Champions League.”
