🔗 Share this article The Game UN:Me: An Psychological Thriller Merging Survival Horror with Among Us Mechanics The latest Day of the Devs online presentation unveiled several fascinating future games, but one in particular has seized the imagination: UN:Me. Developed by Historia and Shueisha Games, this solo adventure appears to fuse together the oppressive atmosphere of a Silent Hill title with the suspicion-driven core of Among Us. "This is a unique game where a girl harboring several personalities within her needs to flee from a labyrinth of the mind," states producer Yasukazu Kawai. Entering a Shattered Consciousness In UN:Me, players assume the role of an unnamed heroine who appears to be of high school age. Within her reside four distinct personas, each with their own anxieties and drives. These souls can take over at will, releasing their deep-seated terrors upon her without warning. Judging by revealed gameplay, much of the narrative unfolds within a creepy hospital, while additional clips depict the main character exploring a abandoned church. A World of Personal Horror "What makes you fearful of? What makes you uneasy?" poses creative lead Shun Sasaki. "Heights. Small rooms. Authority figures. Things that appear minor to others can trigger something primal inside us. This game delves into that idea — fears that are specific to every individual." The core mechanic involves controlling whichever soul surfaces at a particular moment. However, these souls will switch involuntarily during gameplay. During exploration, every persona's fears become exaggerated and assault the protagonist in succession. As the persona shifts, so does the specific fear the player encounters. Eerie Visuals and a Fatal Choice At first glance, UN:Me shares striking aesthetic parallels with the Silent Hill series. The setting is populated by orderlies all sporting the identical visage, with unnervingly wide grins. Patients in the waiting room have large blooms where their necks should be. Flowers are a recurring element, juxtaposing organic elegance with unnatural horror. Yet, UN:Me presents a singular mechanic. Players are tasked with deducing which of the four entities haunting the protagonist is the "true" one. "All four personas claims that the physical form belongs to them," explains a developer. "During the game, you must determine who is real." Once players have deduced a soul is fake, they must eliminate it. But, since every entity can deceive or obfuscate the truth, it is incredibly simple to make a mistake. "Perhaps you've already eliminated the true [soul] with your own hands," a voice suggests. "The last one remaining might be a fake. In any case, your choices are final." UN:Me does not yet have a confirmed release date, but it is can be wishlist on digital storefronts.
