Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Dies in a Los Angeles Vehicle Accident

Vince Zampella, renowned for co-creating the wildly popular franchise Call of Duty, has died in a vehicle crash in California aged 55.

Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.

The renowned game designer passed away following his automobile collided and burst into flames on a freeway in the Los Angeles area on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.

"We are facing an unimaginable loss, and our hearts are with Vince's loved ones, his loved ones, and the countless individuals inspired by his legacy," a representative from Electronic Arts said.
